  • What Forms Of Inheritance Tax Are There In Israel?

There is currently no inheritance tax or estate tax in Israel. This means beneficiaries do not have to pay taxes on their inherited assets.

While an inheritance tax existed between 1949 and 1981, it was abolished and has not been reinstated since.

However, heirs who live abroad may be subject to tax rules of their country and or capital gain on the Israeli property they inherited. Also, Israeli capital gain on the property may apply.
